Food Empire Holdings Singapore Provides US$20,000 Relief Support to Flood Victims through NCC

Kathmandu, September 15 – Food Empire Holdings Limited, Singapore, the producer of the globally renowned MacCoffee brand, has provided support worth US$20,000 for flood-affected citizens in Nepal. Food Empire provided the assistance through the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) with the objective of delivering relief and humanitarian assistance to affected areas.

Food Empire Holdings provided the support with the objective of supplying essential relief materials through the Chamber to flood-affected areas, including Rasuwa, which were recently affected by floods.

NCC Executive Committee Member and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Arkash Group, Rajul Shrestha, said that Food Empire Holdings Limited, Singapore, provided the assistance through the Nepal Chamber of Commerce in coordination with Arkash Group.

According to Shrestha, arrangements have been made to provide the support received from Food Empire Holdings in the form of food and other essential materials after identifying the immediate needs of affected citizens.

“According to the wishes of Food Empire Holdings, basic materials required by flood-affected citizens have been prioritized. In the first phase, relief materials including food, clothing and sanitary pads were distributed in the Upper Trishuli area,” he said.

In the first phase, relief materials worth approximately NPR 300,000 have been distributed. Shrestha further stated that, based on the demands of flood-affected communities, essential relief materials worth an additional NPR 2.7 million will be sent to the affected areas.
